In Columbus, Ohio, nearly three years after Bob Nunnally left the airwaves to focus on beating cancer, beloved former Columbus, OH NBC4 meteorologist Bob Nunnally has died. Nunnally died last Sunday morning, the family said. He was 68.
On Facebook “the family requests privacy during this difficult time as we grieve our loss and personally contact family members,” a statement from Nunnally’s family said. “Thank you for your understanding and kind thoughts.”
Harry Lyles who was PD/OM at Josephson’s WSNY-FM/WVKO-AM hired Bob from the competition (WNCI-FM) in ’83 to do mornings . Bob was later moved to afternoons. Lyles commented “Bob was a PD’s dream on-air. Very talented and helped Sunny 95 win. The best part working with Bob, I never had to critique him.”
He understood day one at Sunny 95 what the programming plan was and he did his job every single day. below, Lyles shared some audio of he and Nunnally on air when Lyles had to substitute for a sick traffic reporter and do Yellowthunder Traffic- below is the audio.
Listen carefully how Bob intros the traffic. Both AM and FM properties were know for contesting and money was the both stations hook to success. More Nunnally insite from NBCTV4 Columbus is here.
