Audacy says that KMOX will be switching frequencies later this month with a station that laid off their entire on-air staff last week. Beginning March 24, KMOX will be switching from 98.7 FM to 104.1 FM, which was the frequency under WHHL, who will be taking over 98.7 FM instead.
WHHL Hot 104.1 will let go of all five of their on air-hosts and DJs. Both stations are operated under Audacy. The transition occurs just ahead of the Opening Day on March 27 as KMOX is the official home radio for Cardinals baseball.
“We’re thrilled to expand KMOX’s reach and bring the trusted news and entertainment our listeners rely on, as well as Cardinals baseball, on an enhanced FM signal that covers the greater St. Louis region,” Audacy St. Louis and Wichita Senior Vice President and Market Manager Becky Domyan said in a release. “We’re equally as excited to continue delivering the hottest hip-hop and R&B on HOT 98.7’s new dial position.” KMOX will continue to air on 1120 AM. FOX 2 reached out to Audacy regarding the changes, and a spokesperson stated “We have nothing else to add aside from the press release.”
