The 2025 NAB Show is set to transform the media landscape, harnessing artificial intelligence to innovate content creation, distribution, monetization and audience engagement. This year’s show introduces PropelME, a startup hub spotlighting AI-driven companies poised to reshape the broadcasting, media and entertainment sectors.
In collaboration with FBRC.ai, PropelME will demonstrate AI technologies that are advancing storytelling and production. FBRC.ai, known for its work with leading AI startups like OpenAI, Runway, Luma and ElevenLabs, plays a pivotal role in connecting these innovators with industry giants such as Paramount, AWS, and Verizon.
The show will feature the Startup Stage, a new platform where industry leaders and entrepreneurs will explore significant advancements in AI technology. Discussions will center around two main themes: “Hybrid Production with AI,” focusing on AI’s role in enhancing production workflows, and “Evolving Consumer Experiences,” which looks at AI’s impact on content distribution and engagement.
A new highlight, the Startup Showcase, invites companies to present their innovations in brief, impactful sessions. This segment allows audience members to vote for the most promising startup, granting them a spot in a Fireside Chat for deeper discussion.
Karen Chupka, Executive Vice President and Managing Director of NAB Global Connections and Events, emphasized the transformative power of AI, stating, “AI is transforming media and entertainment, unlocking new ways to tell stories, engage audiences and streamline production. At NAB Show, we’re bringing together emerging tech and visionary creators to explore AI’s ability to enhance storytelling.”
The NAB Show will also host an AI Innovation Pavilion, showcasing the latest AI technologies and fostering industry collaboration. Attendees can dive deeper into AI applications through Post|Production World’s expanded AI track and specialized workshops focused on AI-driven production workflows and content creation.
With AI poised to generate significant economic impact — projected by McKinsey & Company to reach between $380 billion to $690 billion — the global AI media and entertainment market is expected to exceed $104.4 billion by 2030, according to Straits Research.
This year’s NAB Show is not just about displaying technology but also addressing the ethical considerations and long-term effects of AI on the industry, promoting a balanced discussion on responsible AI implementation.
