
History Makers: D-Nice Receives 1st Ever Doctor of DJ Architecture & Live Music Artistry, and Music Composer Spud Receives Doctor of Music Production, Technology & Innovation on Sunday, August 25th in Atlanta conferred by Dr. Verna Caddie President Founder of LECBU.
In a remarkable moment, they also received the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award from President Joseph R. Biden Jr. and Vice President Kamala Harris. To top off the evening celebration, the national anthem was beautifully sung by renowned recording artist Darlene McCoy. The master of ceremony was Dr. K.C Fox and Dr. Towanda Braxton, Dr. Ashley Little and Phylicity Caddie served as honorary presenters.
Among the distinguished iconic guests who were also recipients of honorary doctorate degrees and the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Awards were notable actresses Brély Evans, Claudia Jordan and Jennifer Freeman, Brandi Harvey along with music industry luminaries like: Tyrese Gibson, Sean Garrett, Raheem DeVaughn, J. Brown, D-Nice, Tanya Nolan and Jekalyn Carr along with Rickey Smiley to name just a few of the 250 guests and honorees.
